Summary: The Authoritative, Indispensable, Essential Calvin & Hobbes
Comment: I grew up reading Calvin & Hobbes in the newspaper every morning, and I bought every C&H book as they came out. But I found this exhaustively complete (and extremely heavy) compilation to be an absolute must-have. Every strip is included and printed in the original publication order, along with the dates on which each strip ran. As an added bonus, Vol. 1 includes a detailed preface by author Bill Watterson, and all three books contain all the original cover artwork and extras from previous collections, such as the poem "A Nauseous Nocturne" first seen in "The Essential Calvin and Hobbes."

The books' large size and weight make them a bit too unwieldy for a bedtime read, but don't let their girth or the price prevent you from adding this to your library.

Comment: This collection arrived in pristine condition. Unfortunately someone stole my digital camera from my car and I have no other way to take a photo. I am very proud to own this collection. I plan to pass it down to my relatives in the hopes they keep it this way. I will some time in the future get another camera and take photos of this collection.

Summary: Complete Calvin and Hobbes
Comment: This is a deep philosophical book where one can find every answers for the every main questions of our life: Where we come from? Why we are here? What is the reason of our existence? The problem Kerkergaard can't solve, Calvin solve quite easy - the main reason of humankid is to hit Susie with a biggest in Universe snowball. That's it.

Summary: content is good but..
Comment: I'm in China. and when the box arrived today, one of the spines was broken.

But it is still worth it - the discount is good and the shipping costed only $9.98, especially when it is so heavy! And it only took a week!

And when i started reading it, i began laughing my heart out again. It's like meeting a long-time-no-see friend - so sweet and so warm. To a real fan of Calvin & Hobbes, it is really lucky to have a complete collection.

Editorial Reviews:

New York Times best-seller!

Watterson's imaginative approach to his material and his inventive graphics have made Calvin and Hobbes one of the few universally admired by other cartoonists." --Charles Solomon, Los Angeles Times Book Review

Calvin and Hobbes is unquestionably one of the most popular comic strips of all time. The imaginative world of a boy and his real-only-to-him tiger was first syndicated in 1985 and appeared in more than 2,400 newspapers when Bill Watterson retired on January 1, 1996. The entire body of Calvin and Hobbes cartoons published in a truly noteworthy tribute to this singular cartoon in The Complete Calvin and Hobbes. Composed of three hardcover, four-color volumes in a sturdy slipcase, this edition includes all Calvin and Hobbes cartoons that ever appeared in syndication. This is the treasure that all Calvin and Hobbes fans seek.
