Intertek Launches Hard Hitting Industry Awareness Campaign
“Antiquated Notions” Education Campaign Underscores ETL Mark as Alternative to UL Mark
Chicago, IL (PRWeb) November 19, 2004 – The ETL SEMKO division of Intertek
recently launched a hard hitting industry awareness campaign to illuminate the
many facts surrounding the ETL Mark as an alterative to the UL mark. With a series of ads
and a new website, www.ETL.com,
the campaign counters outdated perceptions and informs manufacturers that the
ETL Mark is a preferred alternative in North American certification
marks.
“Believing that you must use the UL mark to sell your products in
North America is as antiquated a notion as ‘the world is flat’,” said Gregg
Tiemann, President of Intertek ETL SEMKO, Americas. “There are a number of
certification mark alternatives. In the case of the ETL Listed mark, it’s
preferred by manufacturers seeking fast testing turnaround throughout 30 labs
worldwide.”
Using antiquated notions, such as “the world is flat”, the
campaign’s ads draw parallels from outdated beliefs to the thought that you must
solely use the UL mark. The campaign is supported by www.ETL.com; a new site that
illustrates ETL mark preference through facts, figures and testimonials. ETL.com
also provides manufacturers with tools and downloads to leverage their use of
the ETL Mark as a product feature and competitive advantage.
“This
campaign isn’t just about branding or positioning the ETL Mark. It’s an industry
awareness initiative that can benefit manufacturers and the testing industry,”
said Nancy Medas, Director of Marketing, Intertek ETL SEMKO, Americas. “When all
manufacturers know they have a choice, the doors are open for a competitive
market. With industry leading testing turnaround and customer responsiveness,
we’re a beacon for manufacturers looking for a better testing
partner.”
