At this intensive training program, our industry experts deliver an in-depth review of design concepts and installation issues. Topics at the classroom course include: RFID Fundamentals; Middleware Requirement; The EPCglobal Network; Integration Issues; Managing the Data to be followed by Live RFID Demonstration.
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) August 10, 2004 -- eSmart Source Inc. a leading system
integrator of RFID–enabled solutions and a member of EPCglobal US today
announced technology training program in RFID to help technical executives and
project managers to get up to speed quickly on RFID.
At the current stage
of RFID development there is a need for significant experimentation and
configuration in the interaction of tags and readers. There is a shortage of
qualified and experienced people in this work.
RFID Made Easy is a
one-day course that familiarizes participants with the hardware, middleware,
software and everything else necessary for successful RFID deployment. Training
is provided in a technology-oriented manner for those individuals who need an
in-depth understanding of RFID. At this intensive training program, our industry
experts deliver an in-depth review of design concepts and installation issues.
Topics at the classroom course include: RFID Fundamentals; Middleware
Requirement; The EPCglobal Network; Integration issues; Managing the Data to be
followed by Live RFID Demonstration. A certificate of completion will be awarded
to all participants.
In addition, all participants will receive Free RFID
Technical Tool Kit containing latest and updated information on industry
standards, various sample software application programs, and variety of tags - a
US$ 295 value - with their registration along with training
material.
This is an informative and objective training class consisting
of technical sessions to answer these questions:
1) What's the value of RFID
and how it works?
2) How to practically deploy RFID technology?
3) How
to build an infrastructure designed to handle the huge amount of data that RFID
will generate?
4) What are the evolving EPC standards?
5) What are the
integration Challenges?
Currently the course is being offered in San
Francisco, Bay area every month starting October 2004 and will be offered in Los
Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix and other cities in the coming months.
RFID is a means of identifying objects from a distance using radio
frequency transmissions. An RFID tag, containing an electronic chip, stores data
on the product within which it is embedded. A reader (fixed, mobile or handheld)
is used to retrieve the information. As a wireless technology, RFID is effective
in manufacturing as it enables accurate and real-time tracking of inventory by
companies throughout an entire supply chain without the need for line-of-sight
tags and readers (as in the case of bar code scanning). By helping companies
observe and understand the movement of inventory in real-time, RFID will reduce
instances of out-of-stocks and non-saleable product; shrinkage and product loss
due to theft; and the cost and manpower affiliated with moving and monitoring
inventory.
RFID is already being adopted by international retailers,
including Metro Group and Tesco in Europe; Wal-Mart, Target and Albertsons in
the United States; leading manufacturers, such as Gillette, Hewlett-Packard,
Johnson & Johnson, Kimberly-Clark, Kraft Foods, Nestle, Procter & Gamble
and Unilever; and the US Department of Defense.
